It is the good opinion of most golfers that Titleist golf balls are the highest quality balls that has been made in the last 30 years. Having said that, how is it possible that this company could improve on such a 1st rate golf ball?

Well, they did it! The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls both have a new hidden seam design via its “staggered wave parting line”.

These new golf balls also feature a brand new alignment marking which completely eradicates the need to draw a line by using a marker.

Another benefit of these new golf balls by Titleist is that they offer higher coverage, more distance, and extra responsiveness on the green than compared to older golf balls.

For further details of the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, you can visit:

The success of the ball as it moves its way towards the hole depends on its speed. In other words, the pressure that you apply on your swing determines your success as a putter.

The Catch 22

If you hit the ball too hard, it will fly above and beyond the hole. When this happens, you will need to make an extended recovery shot. On the other hand, if you don’t put enough pressure on your swing, the ball will stop short of the hole.

Hitting the ball too hard will give you less break, or curve. For example, if you hit the ball too hard and calculated a six or seven inches of break, the ball will likely break just two or three inches and ends up missing the target. By hitting the ball too hard, even a putt that is only two feet can cause you to miss the hole and lip out, or goes back out.

Hitting the ball too gently, however, the ball will break more than your calculation and also miss the hole.

Therefore, the absolute success of the putt depends on the speed of the ball. Speed, along with distance, go hand and hand on the putting green.

So, How do you know? Backswing Distance? Speed of stroke? Length of follow through? Or does it start with your stance? Or your eyeballing the path before the putt? Or your visualizing the ball going in?

What’s YOUR method of getting the right speed?

I’d like to know…. Post your theory here… We’re all anxious to compare notes!

Matte Series has done it again. They have created a putter, released in 2007, called the “Heavy Putter” and this beautiful piece of equipment now comes with a matte finish with an aluminum plumber’s neck hosel in the color green.

There are two models that you can choose from. They are the blade and the mallet. Each come with a plumber’s neck hosel that is offset by 1 complete shaft.

There is a 250 gram Winn grip and a putterhead that weighs 475 grams. This design definitely keeps the larger muscles of the body engaged, while minimizing the use of the smaller muscles.

The greatest advantage of the new Heavy Putter is its grip. It is considered to be “heavy” which moves the club’s balance point up the shaft at least 75% higher than standard putters. Pendulum strokes are made much easier with this design. Senior Golfers experiencing “the jitters” (for the first time) realize a return to steady strokes with this putter.

Putterhead: Stainless Steel (CNC milled)

Putterface: Stainless Steel (CNC milled)

Designs: A2,M-Plumber’s nick, full shaft of offset, face-balanced blade; B2,M-Plumber’s neck, full shaft of offset, face balanced mallet.

Models Available: Matte Series, Original Series

Back in the old days, your choice of golf balls was simple; high-level professionals would use a three piece golf ball, which had a high spin, and covered with balata. Your every day, normal golf players would opt for the two piece golf ball which was covered with surlyn and was rock solid.

Today, however, there is an enormous amount of golf balls to choose from, so let’s simplify things a bit and take a look at a few details of today’s golf ball varieties.

The easiest way to look at the types of golf balls that are available today is to view them from a two-sided menu. On one side you have the type of balls that professionals use, which are soft, high spin, very expensive, and three-piece.

On the other side, you have standard two-piece golf balls that are low spin, inexpensive, and are the average choice for beginner and amateur golfers.

Then you have the middle – in between the two general ball types where you will find many kinds of multipurpose golf balls which provide plenty of distance when hit from the tee, yet gives enough control to the player.

Making The Right Choice

You can use the above simplified explanation of golf ball types to make the right choice for your needs. If you are a beginner then you would obviously want to go with the two piece, low spin golf balls. While you have less control, the fact that your swing should have the ball going straight as possible will alleviate potential bad shots, thereby reducing penalties.

As you improve your golfing skills, you can then start to move towards the middle choice of multipurpose golf balls which will start to give you a bit more control over the flight of the ball. Soon enough you will be at the skill level to actually steer the ball in different directions to make more successful shots.

Good golfers want as much control as possible so that they can steer the ball to the left or to the right, depending on their intended direction. Beginners should only be concerned about driving every last yard they can from their shots, and in a straight direction.

There are 2 more last minute tips:

1. Keep your golf balls warm: Did you know that a ball will suffer the loss of distance if it is too cold? If you are playing during a cold day, hold on to a few balls inside of your coat pocket and handle them here and there to keep the balls warmed up. You can then alternate balls at each new tee so that you can start one that is warm.

2. Golf balls do not last forever: Golf balls have a shelf life. After approximately 1 year, you will lose distance with the same ball. It is best to keep track of how long you have had your golf balls to avoid using them stale. And remember, three-piece balls tend to lose their quality sooner than two-piece golf balls.

Here are my suggestions:

Intech Beta Ti Golf Balls (36 Pack

You may want to have your golf clubs custom made to fit your body type, shape, and swing style as you age. More and more of today’s golf players are choosing to pay the extra money for a set of golf clubs that are specifically designed for the individual.

A man that stands over 6 feet tall should not have to play with the same clubs that suit someone who is much shorter. Likewise, if you have shorter arms and legs, you would need clubs that differ in size than a person who has the same stature, but with longer limbs.

Shaft Length Adjustment

The shaft length is one of the most important adjustments that will need to be custom fitted for personalized golf clubs. The club fitter will be the person to determine what length your clubs should be. This length can vary by as much as 12 inches in some cases.

Shaft Flex Adjustment

The second important adjustment that is made for a custom set of clubs is the shaft flex. This term describes the stiffness (flex) of your club shafts. They must be matched to the exact speed at which you normally swing your clubs. You will need to have your swing speed tested to get the right adjustment. This may need to be adjusted if your swing changes through the years. In order to avoid that being necessary, remember to maintain your daily exercise program designed for Senior Golfers. Get your copy of the FREE book “Senior Muscles” (if you haven’t already) right here on this blog.

It is mostly due to more players being educated about possible damage from the sun.

OAKLEY HALF JACKET® GOLF ARRAY SUNGLASSES

Because golf is played for such long hours at a time, all spent in the sunshine, there is a good chance that eye damage can occur after years of playing. In fact Senior Golfers, nearly 30% of men and women over the age of 60 have vision impairments due to some light. As the age bracket climbs, this percentage rises.

CONDOR SPORTSMAN Sunglasses Charcoal

If you are currently playing without any protective gear for your eyes, consider investing in some specific golf shades and golf sunglasses that will not only protect your eyes from sun damage, you can also rest assured knowing that as you grow older, golf will still be a sport you can enjoy as a result of taking care of your health early on.
